5 months old!

It's hard for me to believe, but Evie turned 5 months old last friday! She really is growing up so fast! It's crazy to think that only a few months ago she so much smaller than she is now, and wasn't able to do most of the tasks she does these days (rolling, sitting, creeping, eating solids, sleeping up to 9 hours at a time (YAY!)). There's a song on the radio right now that repeats the phrase "it won't be this way for long" in its chorus....oh how true is that when it comes to kids! Realizing that almost everything is temporary at this point makes getting through the rough parts (think sleepless nights and fussy periods) much easier, but it also makes the really great parts (think sleeping in your arms and goofy, slobbery kisses on the cheek) bittersweet. Luke and I have learned to treasure all the moments, even the ones that can't easily be placed in the "good" category...because we know that this time in my life, and in Evie's, will fly by in the blink of an eye. On that note, here's to the li'l miss and the joy she's brought into our lives so far, and that she'll continue to bring in the months and years to come!
