Adventures in toyland!

Evie was 12 weeks this past Monday, and to celebrate she decided to play with her toys for the first time. In the past, she would hold her soft toys and would stare, bat at and hold other toys if you put them in her hand, but this was the first day that she reached for and actually grabbed a toy on her own.

Here she is (below) looking rather pleased that she got ahold of Al the alligator's foot, which happens to be a rattle.

Once she got the rattle firmly in her grasp, she decided it would be nice to see what Al tasted like. :) I never really understood why babies put everything in their mouths, but have recently learned that it's just one of the many ways they explore their world. Evie is definitely keen on exploring through this method - EVERYTHING goes in her mouth, whether we like it or not:)
