Halloween fun

By the time Halloween gets here on Sunday, Evie will have been trick or treating for a week! The fun started last weekend when we went to the Howloween party at the zoo. Evie and her friend Brynn had fun seeing a few of the animals and getting treats from local businesses sponsoring the event. Evie definitely got the hang of trick or treating....she ran from booth to booth saying "TREAT!" For now, she thinks most of the treats are just fun shakers and shiny packages, but we did let her try a sucker. Yum, yum! Here are a few shots of our little butterfly fairy from the zoo:

To keep the fun going this week, Evie went to a costume-themed storytime at the library and went trick or treating at my office this afternoon. She liked most of the costumes, but was a afraid of a life-sized scary-looking witch that was floating in one of the office doorways. I told her that the witch was just a decoration and wouldn't hurt her. In response, she yelled "BYE WITCH!!" and waved. It was hilarious. But only a little more so than her refusing to speak to most of the nice folks handing her handfuls of candy, quietly whispering "tank you" out of ear shot as she walked away, but then yelling "NEXT" as she ran to the next office. Funny, funny girl!!
