New Blog - Growing Up Schulz
Hello! As our family expands, we've decided that it makes the most sense to use one "family blog" rather than try to maintain individual blogs for each child. So, from now on we'll be keeping tabs on li'l miss Evelyn and mister Grayson via growingupschulz.blogspot.com and will no longer be posting regularly on this blog. We hope you enjoy being able to follow our little ones as they grow up!

pretty as a princess
Evie is really into princesses these days. She especially likes Belle. Lucky for us, all it takes to fulfill all her princess "needs" today are dresses and skirts. That part of a fairy tale princess's wardrobe seems to have stuck in Ev's head as making or breaking your royal status if you're a girl. Nearly every morning she asks to wear a "princess." If you happen to be a boy, well then any attire will do. Oh, and everyone whom she deems royal is given a feminine title...you can either be a princess or a queen. So, Evie and I are princesses every time we wear a dress or skirt, and Luke is a queen who works at The Castle (she regularly insists that the hospital and pretty much any other large building is a castle). Luke's not a huge fan of the title his little princess has bestowed up0n him, but like any good dad, he puts up with it with a smile and laugh. Maybe someday he'll get to be King, but not today :)
Before B2 arrives, I wanted to do something special for Evie so I decided to dust off the sewing machine and make her a few new "princesses." Here are some cute shots of Princess Evie in two of her new dresses:

hello summer
Just some pics of Ev taken this morning while we were out smelling and watering our many, many flowers. We have at least 12 different flower beds surrounding our house, and while they're a big pain to keep watered and weeded, they're absolutely gorgeous this time of year. And, they're planted to bloom with the seasons, so we'll have different flowers coming up through the fall. Pretty neat. Maybe Ev will learn to be a good gardner - I'm trying, but that truly green thumb is eluding me! Enjoy the pics of our cutie patootie!

Memorial Weekend BBQ
We hosted a Memorial Weekend BBQ yesterday for our playgroup friends. We had fun catching up with the moms and dads, and Evie had fun playing with her friends. She and Charlie ended the night with a rousing game of run around the yard and then throw yourself onto the ground. It had rained a lot earlier in the day, so these two looked like muddy li'l rugby players when all was said and done:

Football
Evie and her daddy played football for quite some time the other morning. It was hilarious! Ev isn't so great at catching or throwing yet, but she's got the "spike" down!
